LOVE + BIRDS

Cori and Daire were married on February 28th at the world-famous Madonna Inn.
Cori and Daire, who live in New York, chose the Madonna Inn for their destination wedding as they loved visiting here when they lived in Los Angeles.  The reason?  Captivating style like this cannot be bought, only discovered, then enormously enjoyed....

For their wedding day, Cori and Daire were inspired by the magical charm of the Inn and  all-things-pink. Cori chose to feature love, song birds and fluttery feathers of all kinds in their romantic decor. These were included in her bridal bouquet, the bridesmaid's flowers, boutonnieres and table centerpieces. With the eminent arrival of spring, this created a deliciously enchanting afternoon for the ceremony in the Ballroom, followed by a dreamy reception in the rose-carpeted Garden Room.

Each guest table centerpiece featured a different type of bird and
were designed in vintage mercury glass compotes.

This was a milestone event for us, as my mother, Eileen, provided the decorations for her very first wedding in 1969, also in the Garden Room. My mother, putting my father Jim through his last two years at Cal Poly, was the hostess in the Gold Rush dining room in 1968 and '69.  It was here, surrounded by this enchanting atmosphere of storybook splendor, that she fell in love with the romance and allure of unforgettable wedding days.

"There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things."
"I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen.  "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day.  Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."
